Our series of Shanghai Art Deco Conversations begins with a video-chat with Mr. Pan, proprietor of the antiques shop “Shanghai Art Deco”, and his wife, Qian Jinlin. The first antique dealer in Shanghai to understand what Shanghai Art Deco was and to focus on selling Art Deco and Concession-era pieces, he helped raise awareness of the value of Shanghai’s Art Deco heritage, and to save a great many valuable items. In this video, he talks to Historic Shanghai‘s Patrick Cranley about his Shanghai Art Deco journey.
